Before, which explains why a letter. There is a quick introduction of yourself and the position you are interested in the company. And instead of non-basic, with a clip. It's more professional that way.

Paloma is correct. The letters go to the front and stitching is very poor - they should be free in most cases, or as the prestige of the position, in a clear Record.

First NEVER staple a resume and cover letter together. Make sure that your name is on two hands and leaflets. Usually, a letter, but on the front.
